Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a secondary battery that can be charged and discharged and a sealing block for sealing the secondary battery by applying pressure to the secondary battery. A secondary battery according to the present disclosure may include an electrode assembly; a pouch-type exterior material having an internal space that accommodates the electrode assembly and an exterior material opening that allows the internal space to communicate with the outside; and a cover member inserted into the exterior material opening, wherein a part of an inner surface of the exterior material facing the cover member may include a sealing surface that is coupled to the cover member to seal an inside of the exterior material; and a separation surface that is separated from the cover member. A sealing block according to the present disclosure seals a secondary battery including an electrode assembly; a pouch-type exterior material forming an internal space that accommodates the electrode assembly; and a cover member inserted into an exterior material opening that allows the internal space to communicate with an outside, and the sealing block may include a press body that presses the exterior material and the cover member, thereby allowing the exterior material and the cover member to be fused to each other to form a sealing portion for sealing the internal space.
