Abstract

A method for calibrating a state of charge (SOC) and/or resetting a predicted state of charge (SOC) of an energy source unit during a charge or discharge event is described. The energy source unit comprises at least two sub-units. The method comprises the following steps: providing a SOC of at least one of the at least two sub-units, during a charge or discharge event, selectively charging or discharging the at least one of the at least two sub-units until a predefined charging or discharging criterion is met, determining a SOC of the at least one of the at least two sub-units that is reached when the predefined charging or discharging criterion is met, the determined SOC being a reset SOC, resetting the provided SOC of the at least one of the at least two sub-units based on the reset SOC, when the predefined charging or discharging criterion is met, excluding the at least one of the at least two sub-units from the charge or discharge event for which the predefined charging or discharging criterion is met, and charging or discharging at least another one of the at least two sub-units until a predefined SOC is met.
