Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a switching converter assembly comprising: a circuit structure; a voltage conversion portion comprising at least one high-speed switch and a power loop configured for converting an input voltage to an output voltage, wherein the power loop is arranged on a first side of the circuit structure; a magnetic snubber portion configured to suppress a voltage overshoot and a ringing time caused by distributed stray inductance in the power loop and the turning off of the high speed switch, the magnetic snubber portion comprising: a magnetic loop possessing a planar inductance connected in series to a resistive element, wherein the magnetic loop is arranged on a second side of the circuit structure or in a secondary circuit structure isolated from the circuit structure. The present disclosure further relates to methods for suppressing a voltage overshoot and a ringing time in a switching converter.
