Abstract
A method of processing one or more blocks of a picture predicts a block of the picture by combining a first prediction using a first angular intra prediction mode (IPM) and a second prediction using a second angular IPM. Each angular IPM is mapped to an intra angle. The first angular IPM is associated with a first intra angle equal to or greater than 180° or equal to or less than 90°, and the second angular IPM is associated with a second intra angle shifted by a predefined angle relative to the first intra angle. The first prediction is obtained by applying the first angular IPM on one or more reference samples on a first side of the block, and the second prediction is obtained by applying the second angular IPM on one or more reference samples on a second side of the block.
