Abstract

A method (e.g., a decoding method) is disclosed. A set of latent variables representative of a current picture and neural network parameters are obtained. The current picture is reconstructed using the set of latent variables as input of a set of at least one first neural network parametrized by the neural network parameters. To this aim, an output of the first neural network is used as input of a forward pass of an invertible downsampling chroma neural network to obtain the reconstructed current picture.
