Abstract

An apparatus includes an elongate flexible shaft and an end effector. The shaft has a proximal end and a distal end. The end effector is positioned at a distal end of the shaft. The end effector includes a body, an electrode, and a bonding material. The electrode defines one or more laterally oriented openings. The bonding material secures the electrode to the body. A portion of the bonding material is disposed in at least one of the one or more laterally oriented openings.
