Abstract
A computer-implemented method provides real-time visual feedback of intraluminal catheter engagement within a luminal organ of a patient. A catheter with electrodes on a distal end assembly is positioned in the organ, and a three-dimensional (3D) model of the internal surface is generated and rendered as a 3D anatomical map. For each electrode, a proximity value indicative of distance to a tissue wall is determined based at least on measured impedance and translated into a graphical attribute value. A continuous proximity visualization feature is formed by sequencing the graphical attributes according to electrode positions, representing proximity variations. The feature is projected onto the 3D anatomical map, creating an integrated graphical representation displayed on a computer display. The visualization is dynamically updated in response to impedance changes, providing real-time feedback on catheter contact with the tissue wall.
