Abstract

A sunscreen composition including, from 2 to 51 mass% of Component (A), from 9 to 80 mass% of Component (B), from 0.1 to 14 mass% of Component (C), from 0.1 to 10 mass% of Component (D), from 5 to 40 mass% of Component (E), and from 6 to 57 mass% of Component (F). In the sunscreen composition, the mass ratio of Component (A) to Component (B) ((A)/(B)) is from 5/95 to 60/40, Component (A) is an isoparaffin having an average carbon number from 50 to 250, Component (B) is an isoparaffin having an average carbon number from 20 to 24, Component (C) is an emulsifier such as a sorbitan fatty acid ester having an HLB of from 2 to 10, Component (D) is polyhydric alcohol having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms and from 2 to 3 hydroxyl groups, Component (E) is an ultraviolet scattering agent, and Component (F) is water.
