Abstract
A portable circular saw for cutting metal includes a base including a lower surface side abutting against a cut material and a cutter body at least partially supported on the upper surface side of the base. The cutter body includes a circular saw blade, a fixed shield covering the outer circumferential side of the circular saw blade, and a metal chip guide tube disposed in the fixed shield, surrounding part of the outer circumferential side of the circular saw blade, and including a chip guide cavity for guiding a chip. The ratio of the outer surface area S1 of the metal chip guide tube to a surface area S2 of the metal chip guide tube covered by the fixed shield is higher than 1.
