Abstract

There is disclosed herein a method of illuminating one or more boundaries for defining a safe zone in the vicinity of an aviation environment, wherein the method comprises the steps of placing a light source adjacent to the aviation environment, illuminating a first boundary line that delineates the boundary between a safe zone and a risk zone adjacent the aviation environment. There is further disclosed a portable lighting device, for example for performing this method, and there is further disclosed an illuminating rope, belt or ribbon that may comprise a portion of the portable lighting device.
