Abstract
A blast furnace lining has an upper stack portion, an intermediate bosh portion, and a hearth portion, and can have a bottom pad portion. At least part of the hearth portion has an outer layer of a first refractory material having a thermal conductivity of at least 16 W/m-k and an inner layer of a second refractory material having an iron erosion index of less than 1% and a thermal conductivity of at least about 8 W/m-K. Also provided are a blast furnace lined with the blast furnace lining, and a method for lining a blast furnace.
