Abstract

It was found that SDF4 in a body fluid sample can be a marker for detecting a cancer patient with good sensitivity and specificity. By using a reagent for specifically detecting the SDF4, it is possible to detect gastric cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, hepatic cancer, liposarcoma, bladder cancer, brain tumor, head and neck cancer, gallbladder cancer, ovarian cancer, tongue cancer, or uterine cancer. The measurement of the SDF4 in the body fluid sample is a test method capable of detecting various types of cancer with a single test, and can be used for mass screening for cancer. Further, it is capable of detecting even cancer of an early stage with good sensitivity and specificity, and thus is capable of detecting cancer at an early stage to start a treatment.
