Abstract

This application discloses an adjustment method for a capacitive proximity sensor applied to a foldable device, and an electronic device, and relates to the field of terminals. The method includes: The electronic device may detect a capacitance value through the capacitive proximity sensor. A capacitance value detected by the capacitive proximity sensor is a sum of a human body proximity capacitance value and an environmental capacitance value. When it is detected that a foldable screen is changed from a non-fully folded form to a fully folded form, the electronic device may adjust environmental offset data 1 to environmental offset data 2 based on a currently determined environmental capacitance value. The environmental offset data 1 is for eliminating an environmental capacitance value when the foldable screen is not in the fully folded form, and the environmental offset data 2 is for eliminating an environmental capacitance value when the foldable screen is in the fully folded form. When the foldable screen is in the fully folded form, the electronic device may detect, based on the environmental offset data 2, the human body proximity capacitance value through the capacitive proximity sensor.
