Abstract

The spacer grid (14) comprises a plurality of tubular cells (18) for receiving fuel rods (4),each cell (18) having a polygonal cross section, with at least two support faces (20) and at least two connecting faces (22) alternating around the central axis (C),each support face (20) having a given at least in part convex shape toward the inside of the cell (18), each support face (18) bearing a protruding element area (24) intended to contact the fuel rod (4);each connecting face (22) having a given at least in part concave shape toward the inside of the cell (18);the support face (20) of a given cell (18) lays against one of the connecting faces (22) of a neighbouring cell (18), the convex shape and the concave shape being such that more than 50% of a surface area of said support face (20) outside the protruding element area (24) is in contact with said connecting face (22).
