A positive electrode active material including a compound represented by Chemical Formula 1 having an olivine structure in the core is provided. The positive electrode active material including the compound represented by Chemical Formula 1may be manufactured by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using a solid-state carbon source, providing a uniform porous carbon layer on the surface of the core.
