Abstract

A battery module is disclosed. The battery module includes a module housing provided with a plurality of battery bank accommodating one or more battery cells therein, respectively, and a top plate provided with long sides and short sides and covering an upper portion of the module housing. , the battery module further includes: venting slit groups arranged at two lengthwise end portions of the top plate, respectively, each of the pair of venting slit groups including a plurality of venting slits arranged in short side direction; and at least one venting hole group arranged between the venting slit groups, each of the at least one venting hole group including a plurality of venting holes, wherein a short side direction width of each of the plurality of venting slits of the pair of venting slit groups is narrower than that of the venting holes of each of the at least one venting hole group in the short side direction.
