Abstract

A motor control apparatus detects currents flowing through coils of respective phases in a motor, estimates a rotational position of a rotor of the motor based on current values of the detected currents, and determines, in motor control that switches an excitation phase of the motor in accordance with a target rotational speed of the rotor, a current command value for a current component that generates torque in the rotor, based on a phase difference between a command value and an estimated value for the rotational position. The motor control apparatus controls currents supplied to the coils of the respective phases in the motor in accordance with the determined current command value determined by the determining unit.
