Abstract

A method of data offloading from an embarkable device (12), comprising: collecting a plurality of data instances provided by sensors and/or telemetry data; for each data instance, determining whether it is a data instance to be offloaded from the embarked device (12) or it is a data instance to be discarded; making (204) a prediction (186) over a certain time horizon of at least one hardware saturation characteristic; given a collection of possible offloading locations (184, I<1>, I<2>, ..., I<N>) and given the prediction (186) over a certain time horizon of at least one hardware saturation characteristic, scheduling (205) at which time and to which offloading location (188), the offloading of the determined data instances should be conducted; offloading the data instances from the embarkable device (12) at the scheduled time and location.
