Abstract

An image inspection apparatus (100) including a controller (81) that detects a misregistration of an image formation position on a recording medium on which an image is formed by an image forming section (40). The controller has: a first detection mode in which the misregistration is detected based on a formation position of a position detection image formed at a predetermined position on the recording medium by the image forming section; and a second detection mode in which the misregistration is detected without the position detection image being formed by the image forming section.
