Abstract

An embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a device and method for performing wireless LAN communication in an electronic device. The electronic device includes communication circuitry, at least one processor, and memory, in which, when executed by the at least one processor, the memory may store instructions that cause the electronic device to identify information relating to a DFS function of an external electronic device from a response message received from the external electronic device, when the information relating to the identified DFS function includes information indicating that the external electronic device is connected to a DFS owner AP, transmit a message including information causing the external electronic device to operate as a group owner for controlling a direct connection between the electronic device and the external electronic device via a wireless LAN. Other embodiments may be possible.
