Abstract

A wireless transmit/receive unit, WTRU, comprising a processor configured to: receive an indication from a serving transmission reception point (TRP) to perform random access on a neighbor TRP; send a random access preamble to the neighbor TRP based on the indication from the serving TRP; receive a random access response from the neighbor TRP, wherein the random access response comprises an indication of timing advance; determine that a triggering condition is met for performing autonomous handover to the neighbor TRP; determine whether configured uplink resources in the neighbor TRP are still valid; and on condition that the configure uplink resources are still valid in the neighbor TRP, send an indication of the autonomous handover to the neighbor TRP via the uplink resources.
