Abstract

Disclosed in embodiments of the present disclosure are a random access method and apparatus. The method comprises: in target random access occasions (ROs), repeatedly sending a physical random access channel (PRACH) to a network device, wherein the number of the target ROs is the same as the number of transmissions of the PRACH, a plurality of candidate ROs comprise the target ROs, and a mapping relationship exists between the plurality of candidate ROs and one synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel block (SSB) index, or, a mapping relationship exists between the plurality of candidate ROs and one SSB index set. A random access resource can be more reasonably configured for a terminal, thereby effectively increasing the resource utilization rate, avoiding resource waste, improving the system communication efficiency, and increasing the success rate of random access.
