Abstract

A method is described for mounting a closing device on a ski boot that comprises a shell (12) and a tubular cuff (14), wherein the closing device functions to bring two flaps (16, 18) of the shell and/or cuff closer to each other, and the cuff comprises a rim (13) that in use ends up substantially at the ankle joint of the person wearing the boot. To minimize the bulk overall, the method has the steps of 1. fastening the closing device (10) to the shell or cuff; 2. placing the rim (13) on the closing device so that the rim at least partially covers the closing device; 3. connecting a retaining member (160) to the closing device to trap the rim between the retaining member and the closing device.
