Abstract

A process for obtaining a product gas from a feed gas in a moving bed reactor, the reactor having a top and a bottom and comprising between the top and the bottom an upper heat integration zone, a lower heat integration zone, and a reaction zone located between the upper and the lower heat integration zone, wherein a plurality of solid material particles and feed gas are counter-currently driven, wherein the plurality of solid material particles is introduced at the top at an inlet and passes through the reactor in the direction of gravity, wherein the process comprises a continuous measurement of the temperature at the top of the reactor and/or a continuous measurement of the temperature at the bottom of the reactor, and adjusting the mass flow of the plurality of solid material particles at the outlet at the bottom of the reactor and/or at the inlet at the top of the reactor and/or adjusting the mass flow of the feed gas at the inlet at the bottom of the reactor depending on the temperature measured by the continuous measurement of the temperature at the top of the reactor and/or the continuous measurement of the temperature at the bottom of the reactor; a moving bed reactor for carrying out said process; and a method for stabilizing the position of the reaction zone in a moving bed reactor in said process or in said reactor.
