Abstract

The present disclosure refers to a battery system (100). The battery system (100) includes a plurality of battery modules (10). Each of the battery modules (10) includes a plurality of battery cells (12) stacked along a stacking direction (S). First halves of the plurality of battery cells (12) of each adjacent battery module (10) are electrically connected with each other to form a first electric stack (14) and second halves of the plurality of battery cells (12) of each adjacent battery module (10) are electrically connected with each other to form a second electric stack (16). The battery system (100) is configured to selectively connect the first electric stack (14) and the second electric stack (16) in series or in parallel.
