Abstract
The present invention provides: a silicone compound that is compatible with a polymerizable monomer; and a copolymer of said silicone compound and a polymerizable monomer. This silicone-containing copolymer is obtained through polymerization of a composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a compound represented by formula (1). In formula (1), n represents an integer of 0-300, R<sub>1</sub>, R<sub>2</sub>, R<sub>3</sub>, R<sub>4</sub>, R<sub>5</sub>, R<sub>6</sub>, R<sub>7</sub>, and R<sub>8</sub> each independently represent hydrogen or alkyl having 1-30 carbon atoms, R<sub>9</sub> and R<sub>10</sub> each independently represent hydrogen or methyl, and X<sub>1</sub>, X<sub>2</sub>, X<sub>3</sub>, and X<sub>4</sub> each independently represent alkylene having 1-20 carbon atoms.
