Abstract

Provided is a rolling bearing with which it is possible to suppress both white structure peeling and surface starting point peeling without performing carburization or carbonitriding treatment that would lead to a strain on the environment and an increase in manufacturing costs. This rolling bearing (radial ball bearing (1)) comprises a pair of steel raceway rings (outer ring (3) and inner ring (5)) and a plurality of rolling elements (balls (6)) rollably held between the pair of raceway rings. The ratio of lower bainite structure in the steel in raceway rings is 35-90% (inclusive), the ratio of residual austenite structure is 5-40% (inclusive), and the remainder is martensite structure and carbide.
