Abstract
An object of the present invention is to accurately extract an uneven area from a picture image obtained by taking a picture of a dyed knit fabric, and to evaluate the dyeing quality of the knit fabric.an edge is detected on the picture image of the photographed knit fabric, each high contrast area in which the gradient of the edge 11 is equal to or higher than a first predetermined value is extracted, and a possible uneven area which is a candidate of an uneven area is extracted from high contrast areas (steps S105 to S107). Meanwhile, highly similar areas which are highly similar to a sample image of a needle loop are extracted on the picture image, information of a position of a representative of the needle loop corresponding to each highly similar area is acquired, and information of positions of needle loops is acquired based on information of positions of representatives (steps S108 to S110). An area which is of the possible uneven area and which continuously extends across a predetermined number or more of the needle loops is extracted as an uneven area (step S111), and the dyeing quality of the knit fabric is evaluated based on the extracted uneven area (step S112).
