Abstract

A system includes an intraocular pseudophakic contact lens (114, 300) configured to be implanted in an eye (102) and mounted on or attached to an artificial intraocular lens (112) in the eye. The system also includes an external lens (116) configured to be positioned in front of the eye. The intraocular pseudophakic contact lens and the external lens form a telescopic Galilean vision system. The external lens may include a spectacle lens or a contact lens. The intraocular pseudophakic contact lens may include an optical lens (302) configured to provide a minus power optical magnification, and the external lens may be configured to provide a plus power optical magnification. The optical lens of the intraocular pseudophakic contact lens may include a central portion (312) configured to provide a minus power optical magnification and an annular portion (314) surrounding the central portion and configured to provide a different power optical magnification or no optical magnification.
