Abstract

A battery apparatus includes a charging path through which a charging current is supplied to a battery bank (B) that includes one or more battery cells (C), a charge control switch (SW_C) positioned on the charging path (300) and configured to selectively allow or block a flow of the charging current, and a processor (100) configured to wake up as the charging current is supplied through the charging path, to turn off the charge control switch, and to monitor cell voltages of the one or more battery cells (C) to detect an abnormal battery cell among the one or more battery cells.
