Abstract

A rotating electrical machine that sprays a liquid coolant onto end faces of a rotor is configured such that the coolant is less likely to enter a gap between the rotor and a stator. Protruding portions 36 and 39 having a cylindrical shape and protruding outward in an axial direction are provided on outer peripheral sides of end plates 35 disposed on end faces on both sides of a rotor core 31. Cooling oils 71 and 72 supplied from oil supply holes 4c and 5c of end brackets 4 and 5 of a rotating electrical machine 1 hit end faces of a rotor 30 as indicated by arrows 71a and 72a of the rotor 30, flow to the outer peripheral sides, move to positions (+Zrf and -Zrr) spaced apart from the rotor core 31 in the axial direction, due to the protruding portions 36 and 39 as indicated by arrows 71c and 72c, and are then guided to a stator core 11 side. In addition, the rotating electrical machine 1 is formed such that a coordinate +Zsf of a minimum inner diameter position of a resin 24 is closer to a center position of the rotor 30 than a coordinate +Zrf, and a coordinate -Zsr of a minimum inner diameter position of a resin 26 is closer to the center position than a coordinate -Zrr.
