Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for encoding/decoding a video are provided wherein at least two prediction blocks for a current block of an image of the video are obtained and wherein at least one of the at least two prediction blocks is obtained using a block vector-based prediction. The at least two prediction blocks are blended to provide a predicted block, wherein the blending uses blending weights determined from a template of the current block and the current block is encoded or decoded based on the predicted block.
