Abstract
A bitstream, an encoder and method for encoding the bitstream, and a decoder and method for decoding the bitstream. The bitstream comprises one or more texture patches and one or more depth patches for each region in the scene that does not contain a non-Lambertian reflecting surface, one or more texture patches and one or more depth patches for any non-Lambertian reflecting surface in the scene, and at least one texture patch and at least one depth patch for each virtual object in any non-Lambertian reflecting surface. The one or more texture patches for any non-Lambertian reflecting surface and the at least one texture patch for each virtual object each comprises a color value and a density value for each pixel.
