Abstract

This application provides a data transmission method and an electronic device. The method includes: A first device establishes a first signal connection with a first access point operating on a first channel. A second device establishes a second signal connection with a second access point operating on a second channel. The second device establishes a data connection with the first device in response to a data transmission request of the first device. The first device or the second device cuts off a signal connection on a different operating channel from the data connection, which can prevent the first device and the second device from being in a co-frequency and different-channel operating mode, thereby improving data transmission efficiency between electronic devices and enhancing terminal usage experience of a user. A path of the data connection includes any one of the following: a first signal connection and a third signal connection between the first access point and the second device; a Wi-Fi Direct connection between the first device and the second device; or a fourth signal connection between the first device and the second access point, and a second signal connection.
