Abstract

An aerosol generating device, according to an embodiment, includes a power source; a heater that heats an aerosol generating article based on power supplied from the power source; a temperature sensor that senses a temperature of the heater; and a controller that controls the power supplied to the heater based on a temperature profile including a preheating section and a smoking section, wherein the controller controls the power supplied to the heater in the preheating section based on a first target temperature; a second target temperature lower than the first target temperature; a third target temperature lower than the first target temperature and higher than the second target temperature; and a fourth target temperature lower than the third target temperature and higher than the second target temperature.
