Abstract

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an expansion body, a method for manufacturing an expansion body assembly, and a medical device, with which it is possible to inhibit breakage of an expansion body during manufacture.Provided is a method for manufacturing an expansion body (21) that includes a plurality of struts (50) extending along the axial direction and aligned in the circumferential direction around the axial direction, and has, in the middle in the axial direction, a waist portion (55) having a reduced outer diameter, the method including expanding an inside of a base material (180) having a tubular shape and including the plurality of struts (50) using an inner mold, and restricting an outside of the base material (180) with an outer mold (150) in order to form a bottom (56) having the smallest outer diameter of the waist portion (55) and an upright portion extending radially outward from the bottom (56).
