Abstract
The present invention discloses an expiratory flow resistor to permit a stenting pressure above atmospheric pressure in a respiratory conduit comprising a respiratory conduit having an expiratory flow channel, and an aperture of the respiratory conduit to release a flow of the expiratory flow channel to atmosphere. Further, it comprises a cover component. The cover component is configured to selectively block the aperture, wherein the cover component is flexible and is loaded with a tension so that at least a first portion of the cover component blocks the aperture unless a pressure of the expiratory flow channel exceeds a pressure threshold that is above atmospheric pressure.
