Abstract
An object of the present disclosure is to provide an Ultrasonic welding apparatus, ultrasonic welding method, a battery cell manufactured thereby, a battery pack, and an automobile including the same, which are capable of ensuring sufficient welding strength between a current collector plate and a terminal (rivet) of the battery cell. An ultrasonic welding device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a welding horn having a plurality of protrusions at the end of a welding tip to press at least one member to be welded among a current collector plate and a rivet into a contact surface having a protruding shape. A plurality of protrusions are formed by protruding from the end face in a direction toward the member to be welded. Among the plurality of protrusions, the first protrusions arranged in the central area of the knurled portion are formed in a hexagonal cross-sectional shape, and the first protrusions have a transverse cross-sectional area that decreases as they move toward the member to be welded.
