Abstract

A writing instrument including a shaft tube that has an internal space serving as an ink reservoir configured to accommodate ink and is deformable when a side surface of the shaft tube is pressed, a writing tip formed as a brush portion formed by bundling fibers, a front shaft that is attached to a front end of the shaft tube with the writing tip inserted, a valve mechanism that is housed in a front end portion of the shaft tube and opens when the side surface of the shaft tube is pressed, a valve insertion member including a bottom plate positioned at a front edge of the valve mechanism and having a valve insertion hole formed at an axial center, and a cylindrical portion that is inserted into a front end side of the valve mechanism and has an internal space forming a rear housing portion, and a channel resistance valve including a columnar portion housed in the rear housing portion and having a front end surface contacting a rear end surface of the bottom plate of the valve insertion member and an insertion portion that protrudes from the front end surface of the columnar portion and is inserted through the valve insertion hole. A liquid passage groove that is recessed rearward is formed at a portion of the front end surface of the columnar portion of the channel resistance valve.
