Abstract

A heating system (100) for a vehicle includes a heat pump (108) for delivering a heated fluid at a first temperature, and a first heating loop (318) including a first heating element (320) to heat the heated fluid to a higher second temperature and a first defroster heating subassembly (322) to receive the heated fluid from the first heating element. The system further includes a second heating loop (324) including a passenger heating subassembly (328) to receive the heated fluid from the heat pump (108) to heat a passenger area of the vehicle, and a second defroster heating subassembly (330) in the defroster system to receive the heated fluid from the heat pump.
