Abstract

The present invention provides a surface-treated aluminum nitride powder which is surface-treated with a silane compound having a polymerizable unsaturated bond, and when the aluminum nitride powder is filled into an epoxy resin to form a resin composition, low viscosity and a high level of filling can be achieved, the resin composition has a long pot life, and the surface-treated aluminum nitride powder is capable of maintaining high adhesion to the resin in a cured body. The surface-treated aluminum nitride powder of the present invention is an aluminum nitride powder having a silane compound having a polymerizable unsaturated bond in a molecule present on a particle surface, in which a carbon content per 1 m² of a surface of the aluminum nitride powder is 0.4 × 10^-3 g/m² or more and 1.6 × 10^-3 g/m² or less, and an unsaturated bond content per 1 g of carbon present on the surface of the aluminum nitride powder, calculated from an iodine amount determined by Wijs method, is 2.5 × 10²¹ pieces/g or more and 5.5 × 10²¹ pieces/g or less.
