Abstract
A cathode active material for a secondary battery includes a plurality of a lithium metal oxide particle. A molar ratio of manganese based on total moles of all metal elements excluding lithium in the lithium metal oxide particle is in a range from 0.15 to 0.3, and a molar ratio of cobalt based on total moles of all metal elements excluding lithium in the lithium metal oxide particle is 0.05 or less. An R-factor of the lithium metal oxide particle is in a range from 0.45 to 0.57.
