Abstract
Provided are a polysaccharide-based biomass plastic that has marine biodegradability while also having favorable mechanical strength and thermoplasticity, a molding resin composition using the polysaccharide-based biomass plastic, and a molded body. A polysaccharide-based biomass plastic composed of: a polysaccharide derivative in which hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups of polysaccharide (cellulose or paramylon) are substituted with a long-chain component that is a saturated aliphatic acyl group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and a short-chain component that is an acyl group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, a total of a degree of substitution with the short-chain component and a degree of substitution with the long-chain component being within a range of 2.4 to 2.6 for cellulose derivatives and being within a range of 1.6 to 2.3 for paramylon derivatives, and the degree of substitution with the long-chain component being equal to or more than 0.6; and a biodegradable resin that is one or more selected from the group consisting of PBS, PBSA and PCL, wherein a content of the polysaccharide derivative is 70 to 90 mass%, and a content of the biodegradable resin is 10 to 30 mass%.
