Abstract

There is provided a sliding component that can reliably introduce a fluid into a dynamic pressure generating groove. There is provided a sliding component formed by a pair of sliding rings 10 and 20 having sliding surfaces 11 and 12 which are rotated relative to each other and which defines a radially outer space S1 and a radially inner space S2. At least one sliding surface 11 is provided with a dynamic pressure generating groove 12 that extends in a circumferential direction, and a deep groove 14 which extends in the circumferential direction and of which a circumferential end portion 14a on a relative rotation downstream side communicates with a relative rotation upstream end portion 12b of the dynamic pressure generating grooves 12.
