Abstract
A system comprises a display device (102) that comprises a light-emitting unit (104) having red light sources, green light sources and blue light sources that are employed to respectively emit red light, green light and blue light of certain wavelengths, and a colour filter array (106) arranged on an optical path of the light-emitting unit, the colour filter array comprising red, green and blue colour filters. A semi-reflective surface (130) of an optical combiner (124) of the system has a multi-band reflective coating that is configured to selectively reflect the red light, the green light and the blue light of these certain wavelengths. An image, generated or retrieved by an at least one processor (108) of the system, is displayed via the display device for producing a synthetic light field (132). The optical combiner is employed to selectively reflect the synthetic light field towards eyes of user(s), whilst optically combining a real-world light field (126) with the synthetic light field.
