Abstract
A shortened piping layout for a steam cycle circuit (352) of a combined-cycle power plant (354) without thermal expansion loops is provided. The piping layout includes a first steam pipe (366) to provide a first supply of main steam from a steam generating source (356) to a first turbine section (126, 226) of a steam turbine system (358). A first steam admission valve (361) is configured to receive the first supply of main steam at a bottom portion. A cold reheat steam pipe (368) supplies cold reheat steam exhausted from the first turbine section to the steam generating source for reheating. A hot reheat steam pipe (370) supplies hot reheat steam from the steam generating source to a second turbine section. At least one reheat steam admission valve (363) is configured to receive the hot reheat steam at a side portion for introduction to a side portion of the second turbine section.
