Abstract

Embodiments pertain to a system for laser zeroing and laser firing in a weapon training system. The system may comprise a zeroing laser transmitter configured to emit a visible laser light for zeroing; and a firing laser transmitter configured to emit an infrared (IR) laser light for virtual firing. At least one of the: zeroing laser transmitter or the firing laser transmitter includes an optical phased array (OPA) configured to steer a direction of the emitted visible or IR laser light. In some examples, the OPA is included in the zeroing laser transmitter, and zeroing of the zeroing laser transmitter using the OPA matches a weapon's sight with a point of aim of the visible laser transmitter, taking into consideration the weapon's ballistics
