Abstract
A state related to cleaning of a dispensing nozzle in an automatic analyzer can be determined in a shorter time. An automatic analyzer according to one embodiment of the invention includes a dispensing nozzle configured to aspirate and discharge a liquid; a cleaning unit configured to supply a probe cleaner onto an outer wall and into an interior of the dispensing nozzle; a capacitance measurement unit configured to measure capacitance between the dispensing nozzle and a reference potential portion; a control unit configured to control the dispensing nozzle and the cleaning unit; and a determination unit configured to execute a determination based on the measured capacitance. The capacitance measurement unit measures the capacitance over a time interval including a state where the cleaning unit is supplying the probe cleaner to the outer wall and the interior of the dispensing nozzle and the dispensing nozzle is discharging the aspirated liquid. The determination unit determines a state related to cleaning of the dispensing nozzle based on capacitance data representing the capacitance measured over the time interval.
