Abstract

The invention relates to a method (32) for operating an electrical device (18) which has a plurality of phase connections (20) for connection to a respective phase (20) of a house connection (6). A respective first phase current (36) conducted via each phase connection (20) is detected, and a respective second phase current (30) conducted via each of each phase (10) of the house installation (4) is detected. A "changepoint detection" is carried out for each first phase current (36), so that respective first time points (40) are determined for each first phase current (36). A "changepoint detection" is performed for each second phase current (20), so that respective second time points (42) are determined for each second phase current (20). A confidence for the assignment of one of the phase connections (20) to one of the phases (10) is increased if a corresponding second time point (42) for this phase (10) is present for one of the first time points (40) for this phase connection (20). The invention also relates to an electrical device (18) and a house installation (4).
