Abstract
A first temperature sensor detects (53) a first temperature of a region in a heating device (52). A second temperature sensor (54) detects a second temperature of a portion of the heating device (52) between one end, and an end of the region on the side of the one end. A sheet sensor (55) detects a medium passing a position in a nip region corresponding to a portion of the heating device (52) between the other end, and the other end of the region on the side of the other end of the heating device (52). A controller (100) starts successive transport of the medium at a first number. Upon deciding that a temperature difference is smaller than a first threshold, and that the medium has not been detected, the controller (100) changes the number of sheets of the successive transport to a second number, fewer than the first number.
